Is there any hope at all of Nudist Clubhouse being revived? I understand the fact that it was "hacked" by some bad dude, but the work was that it was being fixed. What happened? What's going on? As loyal members of the Clubhouse shouldn't we be getting some kind of "News" through CFI?

I don't mean to complain . . . well, yes I do mean to complain! NCH never had any trouble telling us when our dues were due. And they didn't have any trouble processing my credit card payment. So why has this situation been a "problem" for so long. Is it just their way of saying "Bye-bye! No longer interested!"?

The world of nudism, or naturism, can go FAR beyond sitting naked at a keyboard. If you never have tried nude recreation - or social nudism - you're missing out on some fantastic life experiences. TRY IT SOMETIME. Contact your local groups. You'll wonder why you didn't do so sooner.
I truly appreciate the opportunity to communicate via this board - I am a non-paying guest. So given that, I am in no position to complain about anything.
There were obvious attempts to drive me off this board at one time, I'm just a strong person. Others have gone, they are sadly missed.
CFI has had some extensive problems with their computer operations of late -- the NCH failure, and this board was down for an extensive period of time. I no longer believe that they could "carry the online nudist torch" for all nudist organizations. This board is likely the best one, it's got a great format. I really would hope that this could change. Its layout is great - but - there aren't too many voices here anymore.
Now - if someone at CFI is reading this - and disagrees, then, by all means, you are encouraged to contradict me. Because the nudist community needs CFI and its forums, or something like it. I'd like to see this come back to its glory of three-four-five years ago.
The whole state of organized nudism in North America is a sad one. Way back in 2000 or so - AANR had 50,000+ card-carrying members. TNS was, to my understanding, also growing. TNS had one of the most spectacular events in the country every year - and it actually had the potential to outgrow the facility that cordially hosted it. And there was an online streaming radio station to spread the word. And boards like this one sprang up. And this one (and NCH) became the dominant boards.
There's a parallel.
I'm reminded of the closing scene in the movie "Dirty Dancing", where Max Kellerman (Jack Weston) and Dr. Jake Houseman (Jerry Orbach) are chatting over the state of the Catskills/Borscht Belt hotels' future, and Max foresees the end of places like his as a family vacation destination. Not discussed was the fact that Jews would be welcome everywhere under the Civil Rights Act, but that with jet travel, people were going to be traveling to places - island destinations, out West, to Europe, etc. and the allure of places like Kellerman's would diminish.
Organized nudism in North America is the same way now -- it's like the Borscht Belt, the resorts went down one by one, only the older folks were going, and those who were left behind just pined for the old days.
The same thing takes place at Grange meetings, Masonic halls, Knights of Columbus, Jaycees, on and on and on.
And many nudist resorts and bulletin boards.

Well if someone from CFI does read this by any chance: Please! Give us some in-for-ma-tion! Even if the information is "Drop Dead, Go Away," at least we will know! We have supported CFI and NCH for many years, bought the CD (with signed poster) and went to a couple of Meet-Ups at Cypress Cove. We may not "deserve" anything, but it would be nice to show a little respect for us paying members. So, please! If anybody from CFI happens to monitor this, please let us know what -- if anything -- is happening with NCH. Thank you.

Since 2013? Really? More and more this sounds like somebody was losing money or just got tired of it and wanted to close down the NCH "company." The "hacker" story is either completely false or, it did happen and it give the owner a good reason to call it quits. So, Goodbye, Nudist Clubhouse!

Its just like any regular website. Your site goes down for a long time and you'll end up starting from scratch. That's happened several times to the forum here at CFI and now at NCH. Apparently, if the same techs are managing the assets, they really are having trouble hardening the site assets. Too bad, as I know they collect monies from some members, and through ads I'm sure they could make even more money.
I'm thinking that many have left this place behind for other venues. I've stopped for a spell at TrueNudists, and it seems pretty decent and steady.

You have to remember - clothesfree.com apparently does have a revenue stream - on the sale of its nudist videos, which come out around once a month or so. In spite of the problems with this BBS, they're still cranking those out regularly, so there is probably a marketable audience for those.
I have come here almost daily for around 10 years. In spite of failed efforts to drive me off the board at times.
I have always discussed topics from an "insider's" viewpoint, having been in social nudism for years before this "newfangled Internet" came along. At times my commentary and advice has been biting - but to the point. Sometimes too harsh, but always straight to the point.
The criticism I had was that CFI/CFF did not reach out often enough to the organized nudist community. I would have liked to have seen them at the Eastern gathering when it was a huge event, and I don't know if they go to the volleyball Super Bowl at White Thorn.
I will address the idea of an online radio station - which might work or might not. There was one around 14-15 years ago - but it didn't seem to have commercial sponsorship, and now with the growth of streaming radio, it just might have been an idea ahead of its time. And with the help of the nudist community, it might just be a viable promotional tool.

Podcasts. The Naturist Living Show has a very large following. Stephane has given listener statistics a few times, and I forget them, but they were large - in the 100,000 range. I don't know the volume required to make an audio podcast self-sustaining with advertising, but I think there is a sizable hole/market for more naturist podcasts. I'd be great if AANR and/or TNS would produce one. But they haven't.

Podcasts are good, too - the concept of an internet stream station is -
a) there would be a lot of music but occasional talk shows - discussing - nudism
b) during the summer months - discussion, even in a round-robin telephone or pre-recorded series of calls, from different nudist facilities around the country - events in the upcoming week/weekend
c) SPONSORSHIPS - nudist clubs and organizations. Advertising on this would be CHEAP.
d) yes a lot of the programming would be repetitive but this could go 24/7/365
e) special events - live.

True Nudists seems to be one of the busier ones.
The Passions site which has passions for everything from trucking to herpes to being disabled to yes, nudism, has a nudism passions, but the activity is low through the nudist chat there.
TN is usually where people "end up" these days since this place doesn't have a chat anymore.
