  • Update in the "in my backyard" case - former town manager - NOT guilty on new trial.

A couple of years ago - a town manager near us was convicted of lewdness, indecent exposure - etc., when a satellite service sales rep came to his house.

I had previously reported that he had been convicted (he was). However, for inexplicable reasons - he stood trial AGAIN and was acquitted.
Fair is fair, but my local paper did not come up with this story, as far as I remember. Here it is =

"Anderson, 51, appealed the decision to Superior Court"

He appealed the conviction and was acquitted on appeal.

Not exactly. In New Hampshire, if you're convicted at the District Court level, you can seek a new trial in Superior Court.

He had a jury trial in Superior Court and was found not guilty. I guess he "appealed it" but his case was re-tried.
