Heidi Klum declares herself a nudist

Heidi Klum is a nudist. Happy Tuesday. Klum said so in an interview with Ocean Drivemagazine: "I'm a nudist." Her nudism is rooted in her upbringing, when her parents would take her to nude beaches. She still sunbathes nude—or at least topless. "I have no problems with nudity at all," she continued. "I'm very free."

Truly makes it difficult for these nudist celebrities to actually enjoy their nudist lifestyle with so many picture hungry people wanting to see pics of them naked. I'm one that feels these people deserve the respect and privacy you and I have, no matter their celebrity. Being a celebrity does NOT mean you automatically give up your right to privacy. Besides Heidi Klum, Kate Hudson is the only other celebrity/actress that has actually come out and stated that they are either a nudist or live naked because that's the way the feel comfortable and prefer to live.

I often wonder if it were different and these celebs did have their privacy, just like we do, if we wouldn't see them more often at resorts, clubs or the local nude beach.

I have met two celebs at nudist functions - some years back (pre-Internet) and they are names you'd probably know if I mentioned them. There is a third "famous person" who was known within nudist circles back in the 1980s-90s, but as with all people I'd meet in a nudist environment, I respect their privacy.

There are probably more than we know; I've also met people who are well known at the local/regional level back in our early days of social nudism, who wouldn't be known nationally but certainly are in Boston, or New York.

In this day and age, with cell phone cameras, they're less likely to go to a facility (I'm assuming). Back in the 80s-90s - their privacy would be respected and the rules of confidentiality were adhered to.

There was no doubt at that point that she was a nudist. I know nudist families who don't even have nude portraits hanging around the house.

The only upside I see to a celebrity coming out and stating with confidence and honesty that they are a nudist and there's nothing wrong with it, is that it will give nudism a little more credibility but not much. The vast majority of society still has their heads in the sand when it comes to our lifestyle, and a celeb, any celeb coming out as a nudist will probably be labeled by the majority as a whacko! ... just like us!

Celebs today are also advised to hold certain things "close to the belt" - they are far more heavily coached and advised by their managers what to do and what not to do.

There was a Hollywood actor in the 1950s = William Talman., whose character, District Attorney Hamilton Burger, lost nearly every case he prosecuted that had Perry Mason as the defense attorney.

Talman was arrested in 1960 at a nude house party in Beverly Hills. The police raided the party on suspicion that there was marijuana being used there (there wasn't) but he still faced a lewdness charge. The charge was eventually dismissed but Talman was fired from the show by the network (CBS). He was missing from some episodes in the 1960-61 season, but got his job back at the demand of the show's executive producer. While the network objected, there didn't seem to be problems from the cast/production crew, nor the public at large.

Sure, he was "whacko" - as some might think - but most didn't care very much.

As an off-topic aside - Talman died of lung cancer in 1968 - and you probably remember the anti-smoking ads he made that ran immediately after his passing.
