  • Neighbors don't like seeing naked gardener, but is legal in Florida

Neighbors don't like seeing their neighbor gardening in the nude, but the police can't do anything about as it is legal to be naked in your yard in Florida.

The miffed residents tell news outlets they've called the Martin County Sheriff's Office, but the man continues to do yard work naked.

Not so fast. It is NOT legal. What is in the video conflicts with the written text, perhaps there was a retraction/reissuance of the story … but

Like the Laconia case "seems to be going in our favor" when in fact, it's still tied up in the court system - READ THE ARTICLE -

      a) he has been getting away with it up to now
      b) it's NOT legal and
      c) the Sheriff is taking action on the neighbors' complaints.

      "
Sheriff William Snyder tells WFTV he believes the man's refusal to wear clothes has breached two statutes: lewd and lascivious behavior and breach of peace. He says authorities will begin taking statements from neighbors."

Bottom line - it's NOT legal to be nude in areas in public view in Florida. And most certainly, AANR and the NAC will likely not come forward to defend this guy.

Before anyone gets bent out of shape over this being a "negative post" - I don't want to see anyone in here get into trouble over a misleading headline.

Yeah, I agree. Every state law that I know of stipulates that -- even if you're on your property or inside your house -- if "an individual's sexual organs"can be seen by neighbors AND they complain then you have to cover up or stay in your backyard / where you cannot be seen by the neighbors.
