This is an old story, but a lot of members of this forum might not be aware of it.
Aristotle Onassis owned his own island, and his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, took advantage of that to go nude on the beach.
During one of their marital spats, Aristotle Onassis decided to give paparazzi information regarding when they could find her nude on the beach.
The photos ran in several different publications. The Kennedy family exerted a great deal of effort in suing everyone involved.

I remember seeing the photos when the first came out. I hadn't heard until now that it was Onassis who had alerted the paparazzi. What a rotten thing to do.

It was a rotten thing to do, but think of how rotten our society is with the willingness to pay for something like that. Celebrity and fame do come with a price not necessarily monetary, but the general public would not see this kind of thing if it did not generate increased circulation. Too bad nude is not normal for all of us. The tabloids would have to make up more stories and print blurry pictures of clothed people to get their numbers up.

Jackie O's stepdaughter, Christina Onassis, was also an avid nudist. She advocated for nude beaches in Greece, but she was not popular due to her chaotic private life, so her support did not help the cause.
