  • Nudist Pastors/Ministers?

    Just wondering...
How many nudist ministers/pastors are there out here? I am a minister, formerly credentialed with a major Pentecostal organization, and have pastored two churches as senior pastor, and served on the staff of three other churches as associate, music, and youth pastor. Because of our church's views on public nudity, I decided to relinquich my papers with them rather live a lie.
If you are a pastor/minister and a nudist...what issues have you dealt with, and how have you justified your position of church leadership with your nudist lifestyle?

      Hi TXK NUDE,
A regular at our local free beach is an [almost] retired Anglican bishop, who goes there with his wife.
About 20 years ago, a regular at Swanbourne free beach, was the minister of the Uniting Church of Swanbourne. He told me that he always invited visiting church officials to join him there, and many of them did.
Another regular was a very well known Uniting Church minister, well respected for his community work, and having close family ties to a then prominent Australian political figure.

I'm not a priest but am fairly active in my Anglican (Canadian) church. Anglican in Canada is equivalent to Episcopalian in the United States and Church of England in, well, England.

As within the Anglican communion on many topics, there is quite a bit of divergent opinion but within that body there are those with strong acceptance of nudity and/or naturism. I don't think it would be a major problem for a priest to be so involved, indeed there was recently an article about a C of E one who posed nude for one of those "I'm nude but you can't see the droopy bits" calendars. In Canada, naturism would often be OK with the mainlines of the United Church (equivalent to one with as similar name in the U.S.) as well, *some* Baptist, Evangelical Lutheran, and Presbyterian. For a U.S. link, you might be interested in

(click on the link to his Nudism/Naturism page).

Another area to explore might be religious broadcasting; the main one here in Canada, Vision TV, does not shy away from appropriate nudity. Not sure if there is anything like it in the U.S.

            To all pastors and laymen,

There is a fellowship opportunity for Christian nudists this summer at White Tail Park in Virginia.

CNNF, the organization behind it, is dedicated to outreach to the nudist community, teaching body acceptance to receptive Christians, and providing spiritual and logistic support to nudist pastors and their families.
