• Nudist Camp Worship Service

Have any of you been to a Christian worship service at a nudist camp?
Yesterday I went to Hidden Valley Resort in north Georgia and enjoyed an hour of worship with pastor Gary and several other folks. I enjoyed the Bible study, songs and fellowship and also the fact that I was among people who affirm the goodness of the body just as God created it, nude.

Anyone else have similar experiences at a resort or camp?

I've wanted to start a Bible study/worship service at our local club, but most members there seem to be not interested. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I met a minister in Mexico who felt led to start a new church. He obtained permission to use a vacant building and he carefully and prayerfully prepared his first sermon. As he began preaching, there was no one there, but passers by sometimes stopped to peep in the windows at this crazy preacher who was preaching a sermon in an empty church. The next week one man showed up and sat on the back row. The week after that, he brought his family, other curious souls came, children often first, followed by their mothers, then the husband at last. In time, there was a thriving congregation where once stood an empty building and a crazy preacher.

Our church planting was often accompanied by summer programs for the children. With my own eyes I saw 10 children become over 50 in one week's time. Numbers are not the goal. If the Holy Spirit uses your words to lead one heart toward the love of God, you have changed the course of history and inspired angels to sing for joy.

We need the love of God in a nudist camp just like any place else on earth.

I've never been to a nude church service. In fact it has been a while since I've been to church. I tell you what I believe I would go a lot more often if I could do it nude. I bet if you got a preacher to come out and give a service you would get some participation. Pin up a note on the bulletin board even if you can't get a pastor just try a little low key bible study. I'd go.

Hey! I thought it was mandatory to own a pick-up at least two guns and go to church every Sunday to live in the great state of Texas. Bible belt and all that.

Don't know how many people remember this, but I am a minister, and up until this year, held credentials with a major denomination. I'd be happy to hold services if anyone wanted me to.

TXK,

You still hold credentials with the only one who can really ordain a minister in the first place. The denominations just affirm on earth what has already taken place in the heavenlies.

Even though we mainly go to nudist resorts to relax and be ourselves, I am blessed when I talk with other Christians about the Lord, and even more so when we sing praises or share a few scripture verses together.

I think every nudist camp or resort should have a chapel or a little prayer room where people can go to meditate or worship. Even if it is just a simple outdoor setup.

George aka "Moose" at Serendipity Park is an ordained minister and has performed wedding ceremonies at this nudist resort.

Cherokee Lodge Resort in Tennessee has a chapel.

So true, that is one of the reasons I still consider myself a minister though I hold no papers. It does mean that I cannot legally perform weddings though.

I wish there were more Christian nudists in our area, but the Bible belt isn't really conducive for us. Most of the nudists we've met around here are pagans, or just aren't religious people. I look at my ministry currently at the clubs to be more "lifestyle witnessing" than actual preaching or such.

I would love to be able to worship with others in the nude as God intended. If I had the finances, I would try to start a church with a pastor who is a nudist. I'm not sure what it would be called, but it would be a clothing-optional church. No one would be required to be nude but would be invited to worship God naturally. I'm sure gawkers would come, but, who knows? They just might be converted to Christianity and to nudism.

I feel very lucky to belong to a club (LARC) here in the NW that has organized a Sunday service.

Where do we meet? When it is warm outside, we sit around our fire ring, and when it is cold and rainy as it often can be, we sit inside the tent and share our views on religion (all of us belong to another church somewhere within our community), but the best part about coming together, is that we can worship in the nude and without shame or embarrasement (and for me, an hour that fits into my schedule). True most of us have to drive a considerable distance for this freedom, but then again isn't this one of the freedoms guarenteed to us in our constitution, (the right to worship in our own way, privided that we don't infringe upon someone else's rights.
