I found this Catholic article about the definition of naturism. What does it mean?

It is for real as far as I can tell, but is not about nudism as far as I can tell. They are using Naturism th mean the literal worship of nature (a deffinintion that goes back about as long as ours by the looks of it). I only skimmed the artical, but it doesn't look to comment on nudity in any way.

I too just skimmed the article, but the difference between Naturism, nudism, naturalists, and traditional and Pagan beliefs has been discussed to death in other threads. If you are interested, I am sure those threads are still here!

As a Pagan, and I only speak for myself, I do not worship nature, but being in nature to me is like being in church. Christians do not worship the building they are in right?

This thread is entitled "Catholic Naturism".
There is no such thing as "Catholic Naturism".
However, their is naturism practiced by Catholics.
I am referring to naturism which is used as synoymous with nudism.

It's interesting, Steve, that although the site is called "New Advent," the references at the bottom are all from a narrow period of 1879 - 1911.... roughly corresponding to the Victorian period.

The site uses material that pre-dates the John Paul II Theology of the Body encyclical, the Baltimore Chatecism, and any writings that came out of Vatican II.

The nihil obstat and imprimatur references above are official declarations that the material is free of doctrinal or moral error.

The people indeed have a clue.

I will determine if a more recent encyclopedia has been compiled and edited and what it may say about Naturism.

The first line says, "Naturism is the term proposed by Réville to designate the worship of nature." The piece obviously has nothing to do with naturism (in the sense of nudism).

On the other hand, I am Catholic and a naturist (ie, a nudist).

Would you attend a prayer session naked? A group does this and they say it gets so intense. Everyone is naked and they all pray together.

Agreed. In order for it to exist, there would have to be other types from which to differentiate it. What are they?

                            but there are Catholic naturists...
or should that be naturist Catholics..

and there's always people confusing 'naturists' with 'naturalists' - just how confused and unobservant are those (non-naturist) individuals ?
