  • Nudity, the church and body adornments

I was sitting here reading thru this section of the board and got to thinking about being a nudist, going to church or a nude/religious gathering and wearing body jewlery.

Most of the time we do a normal church here in town but I am also an avid thong and c-ring wearer. Shocking as it may be, we do attend church every now and then, just to keep things "politically (or religiously) correct" in our lives. My father died as well as numorous others in mine and my wife's family and I'd like to see them again one day.

On a more precise note for this thread:

I wear thongs and c-rings, even to church. I know of 2 other naturist couples in our congragation and I know of about 4 women that even go without panties to church also. OK, here's a comment my daughter made last Sunday:

"Dad, what about your c-rings and mom's nipple clamps? Is it proper or not to wear them to church as well as our thongs or me and mom going without panties?"

    My reply was:

"well, I have my ears pierced and I wear my hoops, sometimes my gold studs or your mother's diamonds. I wear my toe rings in my socks as well as my ankle braclets. Your mother wears her wedding rings and you wear your nose stud and ear rings belly ring and watch.....................whats the difference?"

I don't ever remember the Bible dictating what we should wear. While I feel exhilarated when wearing a thong or going nude on a beach, as long as I don't get carried away or try to openly be sexual, I feel it is OK. I do it for ME not for what others think.
Once my wife and I went to Hedonism II and had quite a discussion about it with my neighbor and his wife (he's a minister, a beer drinker, too I might add). At no time during the conversation did I hear a bad interpretation of what we did, as long as we remained true to the Lord.

    I see it this way:

God loves us for us, not for what we wear. (or dont wear in some cases.) The Lord loves us no matter what.

    Thoughts?

Well, exactly. So why put yourself through all this soul searching and worry and/or guilt?

Personally speaking, I cannot imagine a worse piece of "clothing" than a thong. Just the thought of a string or rope or whatever having to be positioned between one's buttocks is enough to turn me off the thing. But, hey! To each their own. Wear what the hell you want, in church or at the grocery store.

Who said I was soul searching, worrying or feeling guilty?

I thought I was simply sharing thoughts.

        Guess not.

Your body is a gift to you from God. It is in this body your life will transpire. God asks you treat your body with respect by keeping it clean. If you beleive in the bible, it does state that Tatoos and Body Jewelry is not acceptable. Personally I really don't care what you do, but I do not find body piercings or tatoos at all attractive. In fact to me they are a total turn off. But what is unattractive to me could be otherwise to another and I do not deny any other their likes and dislikes. Just I choose differently.

I am gonna ask you, where in the Bible does it say this about Tats and Body jewlery?
I am not doubting you, just curious and I want to read it for myself! I do own 2 versions of the Bible, even though I am Pagan!
I had a piercing once, my left ear, but soon left the earing out and it closed back back up, tats are more perm. even though they are making strides in laser tech.
When I feel the need for a tat, I paint it on....but I digress..

umm... my head is spinning at the thought of discussing c-rings or nipple clamps with either of my parents!!! I guess I'm not mature enough to know those things about them - or even imagine it - yikes!!! hehe just thought I would add that

Rabidclam I have read the Bible cover to cover a few times so I know you're making that up. Why? Thonglover if "c-ring" is what I think it is I believe that from a medical standpoint that should only be worn for short periods of time. Hopefully someone with a medical background will jump in and elaborate or correct me. I have on occasion gone commando to church, but of course no one would know. I'm not comfortable/brave enough to do that for an eight hour shift at work but church or running errands I might.

Jon71- If you were not commando under your cloths, you are definately commando under your underwear! So...it don't matter.

BTW, thanks for backing me up on the Bible thing.

                    jon71,
I am in fact in the medical field. I'm an anesthesiologist. The whole fairytail about c-rings and wearing them for extended periods of time is over-exagerated all the time.

Here's the fact: it all deoends on how tight the ring is. ine are not tight, they arent even snug. They are nice and comfy.
I have one around my entire package, and one around the glans.

I do not read the bible nor do I quote from it. But within those text are comments about body adornment and that adornment is discouraged. Your body is a temple of God. you need to respect it and not befile it.

I personally find piercings and tatoos disgusting but is only my opinion and personal like.

I think it is a good rule of thumb that if you feel that something might be wrong-then it is wrong for you.

                          Gonna have to define defiling.
Could that be a scar from doing something crazy or stupid?
Some people treat tats as art, not unlike the stained glass windows of a church.

I think the church should affirm that the nude human body is God's creation and does not need modification to represent God's handiwork and creative genius.

The Bible mentions ear rings and that leaves the door open for such stuff, but why don't we start by saying that the body is glorious before you do thing one to it?

Who knows? I might have the Ten Commandments tattooed on my back, someday, but I really don't see the "need" to.

Defiling is intentionally changing the appearance or suitability of something with for egotisticial reasons. A scar from an operation or accident is not defiling. Is one of those events of life. But to create a scar for the sake of having one is defiling.

There are those who feel that is fine. Good for them, I hope all works out for them. But for me I do not subscribe to such notions.
