  • Ostara

    Ostara approaches.

What are you doing to celebrate Ostara this year?

This is kinda advanced notice, well....if Christmas can be advertised right after Halloween, and be considered the season right after Thankgiving...why not?

Here in Denver, one really has to keep an eye on the sky that time of year! March can be warm and dry, but it is our snowiest month, Nov. is #2 and April#3. So it is difficult to plan and stick with outdoor plans! So I plan 2 things. A Ostara nature walk, if the weather permits, or Green Beer and Hagus if they do not.

Ostara is fun, but I generally wait until Beltane to plan anything serious!

I understand it is a mid winter holiday celebrated by pagans and wiccans at the vernal equinox.

It's the pagan spring holiday. "Ostara" sounds a bit like "Easter" doesn't it

You are most welcome to honor paganism, but I for one do not support that. Thanks for your answer !

Now, if we could just get the whole world to be more accepting, planet Earth may last a few more years.

I'm not Pagan or Wiccan myself but I've always loved Halloween so one year I went to a Samhain thingy, It was fun. I do like Pagan holidays since they are usually tied back to nature. As far as the witch craft parts of them I don't have a problem with them or positive thinking exercises but I don't believe in them as a science. Anyone having any Astara celebrations in or near San Marcos and I will be happy to join in.

The temprature around here today topped out at 72 degrees and is expected to top 75 degrees tomorrow (My son's city is expecting 80 degrees).

Spring is here with midspring tempratures already. This is the time to be living in the South.

Weather permitting, Ostara will be celebrated on Haulover. Standard beach dress code will be in effect and the Miller Brewing Co (big Pagans from what I hear )will be providing refreshments. HAPPY HOLIDAY!
