Thanks Alan There was this article published in both Travel Naturally and H&E magazines a year ago or so detailing a nudist video shoot (KCN or Parafotos, not sure) in Sharm ElSheikh, and it did mention a private nudist beach in one of the resorts that is exclusive to foreigners only. I'd give it a try but it's difficult since I live in Cairo, which is a 7+ hour drive to Sharm, and more over, I wouldn't afford staying at a resort for a few days at the moment, and if it's like how the article puts it, I might not get admitted to the beach in the end.
The problem with nudism in Egypt is that many people are unaware of the lifestyle (I first got introduced to it via a BBC news item) and those who do quickly associate it with sex, thanks to different media outlets that constantly puts nudism in this context. But it's not as grim as it seems. I've tried to tell some of my friends that I am a nudist and while to most of them it was a bit of a shock (but nevertheless my own right to do what I want, by their own admission), some showed interest in the lifestyle. Those who are interested in the lifestyle are willing to try it when they are alone, such as at home, but wouldn't do it in a social setting. I guess it'd take a while for nudism to be widely accepted in Egypt, but that's the case with all new, 'radical' concepts, and I guess this was the case with nudism when it first started out in Europe and the US at the beginning of the century.

hi doodles: i think we would all be surprised if the closet nudists came out of hiding...i lived in cairo for 3 years (1993-6) and went nude at a private cove near Sharm. I went with 2 male Egyptian friends who also enjoyed the freedom, but were decidedly nervous most of the time. I would have thought with the number of expats living there, especially from Europe, there are some nudists somewhere there. Best of luck in finding them, cheers Alan

I know it is a bit unlikely to find someone who's nudist and from Egypt, but no harm in asking anyway I know some people here who are at least interested in the lifestyle, some even you might consider as nudists, but none who have tried it in a social settings. Anyone who's nudist and from Egypt, or has been on vacation in Egypt and ran through nudist venues? I know toplessness is tolerated in most beaches in the Red Sea area, and I've even heard of some secret nudist clubs, but have yet to visit one myself.
