Michigan Destinations

I've been interested in nudism for a few years now but have been confined to inside the house.... I've never really heard of many places people can go in Michigan if they want to be nude so I was wondering if anyone knew of a place I could go... Thanks....

I recommend my favorite resort, Turtle Lake Resort near Union City Michigan, which is in south central Michigan.

Whispering oaks is a very nice family resort. I like Otter creek beach near Empire.

The problem is that is Michigan is a non-nude friendly state and unless you go to a resort your option are limit. There are some "beaches" that are well known but you will have to cover up as needed. I have been to Otter Creek near Empire a number of times but again Michigan is a non-nude friendly so keep that in mind. FYI- I'm in Grand Rapids area.

I, too would have to recommend Turtle Lake. I'm not very wild about the resort-style, and would prefer an open beach, but have not been able to make it to Empire yet.

I plan on tentcamping June 30 at Turtle Lake. Will they admit single men? Or, do they expect you to have a wife, or gf?

I have noticed many single men there. I am a widower, and they let me visit as a single a number of times.

It is a good idea to call them first and let them know that you are coming.

I am assuming that you are 18 years old or older. If younger than 18, your would need a parent or guardian with you.

Well, there ARE beaches ... But nothing officially recognized. Otter Creek Beach (AKA Esch Rd Beach) at Sleeping Bear Dunes is a legal nude beach since it is on Federal Land. (There were some hassles several years back, but I've not heard of anything lately). Up to last year there was a private nude beach just north of Oval Beach in Saugatuck/Douglas (I hear it is pretty much gay dominated if that is an issue for you), word was it was going to be sold, so I don't know its current status. "Erie Beach" in the Erie State Game Area along Lake Erie just south of Luna Pier is not a 'legal' beach, but there are many areas starting one mile south of Erie Rd and extending another 2 miles that it is no problem finding a place to be nude - but if you want the group social nude experience you'd better bring your own crowd.

Probably the best social nude beach experience in Michigan is at the small beach at Turtle Lake. A bit pricey just for a day at the beach, but I doubt you'll regret it.

I've not heard of Turtle Lake turning away day visitors because of single status (I've never been turned away), of course like most clubs they reserve the right to 'gender balance', but I suspect that is more likely to be applied to memberships rather than day visitors.

Grounds fees for Turtle Lake are the same for a single or couple, so bring someone along if you can - it won't cost any more.
