Haulover Beach

I am planning a trip next week to Key West and was thinking of extending my trip an extra day to visit Haulover Beach in Miami.

Has anyone been? What is the crowd like?
Is it crowded this time of year?

I went to Baker Beach in California a few years ago and the beach was empty. I'd like Haulover to be a bit more crowded.

I bet they're still in recovery mode from the latest hurricane. I'm sure the beach is still there not sure what shape the rest of the place is in.

My wife and I were at Haulover in May of this year. It was our first nude beach. We both enjoyed it tremendously. The beach has lifeguard station and is well populated even during the week. I am told the Northern most section of the beach is typically dominated by the gay population however we saw women throughout albeit more were toward the center and Southern half. It is great I would recommend it for anyone.

Haulover is usually crowded, especially on weekends but because of the hurricane you need to call and find out if it will be open, if you can get through. A great deal of that area is without electricity, no gas for the car either. This is not a good time to be there.

I've been trying to call Sunsport Gardens to make sure everyone is ok and so far the phones are still down.

I wonder how Ocean Palm Motel, near Haulover Beach has been affected from the hurricanes.

On a side note, that fits the description of Gunnison. Gays and bi's to the far right, singles and couples in the middle, and friends and more couples to the left.
Do all nude beaches have the same "setup"?

JUST RECEIVED A CALL TUE. FROM NEWPORT RESORT WHERE WE WERE BOOKED FOR 1ST WEEK IN DEC. TO REBOOK LATER BECAUSE OF STORM DAMAGE AND THIS IS ONLY ABOUT 2 MILE N. OF HAULOVER BEACH.
WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR. VACATION NUDE WHEN POSSIBLE AND HAULOVER IS A FRIENDLY PLACE TO DO IT.

Thanks for the input! We decided against visiting Haulover at this time (due to the Hurricane) but will definitely plan on visiting in the future...
