  • First time at nude beach

I went to the nude beach at San Onofre in CA today. It was my first time nude around others. It was a wonderful experience, but is it always 90% males? I was somewhat shocked at the lack of female beach goers. At times I also felt like other men were staring at me and since I am a straight male, I found this a bit uncomfortable at times. Are nude beaches usually this way?

I think it happen to all beaches clothes or unclothes, I also think it like going to event you walk in and everyone has to stop and look up to see who came in. So don't get down enjoy if your happy with your self you got it made . have fun stay nude. God gave out the best suit to ware.

Try going on a weekend it is slightly less so then. This is also the number one reason more women don't go to many men who have no clue when their behavior is making someone uncomfortable.

Still San O. is a good beach but the dynamic there changes a bit on a week day, and of course everyday is different. On a hot summer day you get more of an even mix but never a 50/50 split, more like 60/40.

I went again today. I didn't feel like anyone was staring today. Maybe yesterday it was just my subconscious making me paranoid since it was my first time nude in public. I felt much more comfortable.

Although this has been a wonderful and liberating experience, I don't think I'll go back. I guess I'm just not a social nudist. For now I'll stick to being nude at home.

When I was growing up, I was a chubby kid. As I grew older, the baby fat went away, but I was still stuck with body image issues from teasing. I think this experience finally cast away my body acceptance issues. Being around others of all shapes and sizes has given me confidence in my body knowing that it doesn't matter I look like. I was somewhat surprised to see I was in better physical shape than most of the other beach goers.

Everyone should go to a nude beach at least once in their life so they can feel the acceptance. It almost felt like unconditional acceptance. Since everyone was nude, we were all equals no matter what shape our bodies were in.

There now, my good man, you are one fellow who "got it" really, really quick! On the second visit! Kudos to you for that.

Even if you don't make it a regular habit, I do hope you'll return from time to time and experience the further and deeper sense of community with your fellow man(kind) that happens under social nudism everywhere.

Congratulations, and welcome to the forum. Your insights are very valuable to us all.

There is usually a mix of men & women. And there is always a straight & gay section in almost all nude beaches.

The nude beach my wife and I go to usually has more couples than anything else. Females without males with them usually but not always come in groups and most single men come alone. I have never noticed anyone "hitting" on anyone else at the beach. However this beach is on a small island, difficult to get to, and mostly inhabited by the people who live on the island.
