• first time - how to calm nerves?

Hi everyone! I am new here. I am 18, female, and am really, really excited about my first naturalists vacation. It is just in the planning stages, but I really want to join the nude community. I think the freedom it affords is great!!!!!!!

Anyway, I have never, never been nude before in front of stranges, esp. in front of guys. So even though I really want to do this and am looking forward to it, I am really nervous.

Any advice on how to get my courage up enough to enjoy my first experience?

Thanks!

Just remember everyone else will be nude.If you keep your clothes on people will notice you more.

Welcome aboard, skyclad!

The anticipation is always the hardest part. Once you get naked, you will start to blend in right away. If the people on your trip are as nice as the nudists I met, they will go out of their way to avoid doing anything that might make you uncomfortable.

There is a saying you should remember for this situation:

Don't worry about what everyone else thinks of you, because they're all too busy worrying about what you think of them.

Have fun!

By the way, where do you have in mind for your vacation?

In most all situations you can choose the option of proceeding at your own pace, progressively removing whatever item of clothing you are ready to remove. You can take time to relax at the venue and become acclimated, notice others relaxed, and then join in the venture of being completely nude when you are ready. Happy adventure!

Skyclad, you know that old advice about speaking in front of an audience if you feel nervous just imagine that everyone watching you is nude...well in a nude resort or beach...they are.

Hi, and welcome aboard. As for advice, it's hard for me to say, I couldn't wait to get undressed. But, as a suggestion, start by being nude at home as much as possible, and when you first go to a resort, you can usually wrap a towel around you until you "feel" comfortable removing it. Check for the policies at the club you're visiting, most now specify "clothing optional" so there's no pressure to get undressed until you're ready. There are a few that require you to be naked to come in, and these could be a little intimidating for a first timer. But, once you get through the first time, you can't wait to go back. I went to my first resort at 34 years old, I only wish I'd had the opportunity to start at your age. So join in on the fun, you're among friends here.......

Hi and thanks to everyone for being so nice!

I hope people are polite at the resorts. I mean, the guys at school were always looking at my breasts instead of at 'me'. (I'm slim, but am full on top, if you know what I mean.) And that's with clothes on! And because I wear bikinis, I shave. I don't want anyone thinking I am strange or wierd or something.

I don't know where I want to vacation yet. I think it might be best to go somewhere where the chances of meeting someone I know are nil. And then, when I get comfortable, it will no longer matter.

Anyway, I am trying to talk one of my girlfriends into going with me so that I am not alone. I think that will help too.

Well all I can say is dont worry because its normal to be nervous. But everyone else is naked so you will fit right in and from what I have experience people are all nice when it comes to that. By the way where do you live, Im in South Florida!

Probably nicer than those you meet at the local mall!

Not to worry, many people do, guys as well as gals.

Just remember, if you meet someone you know, they're there for the same reasons that you are, and probably share the same concerns as you about others finding out. So relax and enjoy!

Sunnyday speaks of her first experience in one of the stories there - I think you will enjoy it, and her stories will help overcome the fear factor.

Tell us about your experience in due course, won't you?

Hi Skyclad, and welcome!

I just took the plunge this year, and I can relate all too well what you're going through, but trust me, the worst of it is the anticipation. Being a guy, I had the obvious and usual concerns any guy would, but ya know what? After 10 minutes all I could do was chuckle at myself for being so nervous about something that seemed so natural when I finally went. I suspect you too will likely wonder what was the big deal you were making this out to be... and after a little while, you'll have a hard time remembering what you were so nervous about. (ok.. that probably doesn't help, but that's exactly how it went for me)

But consider this... when you finally go, no one will know you... and they'll have absolutely no idea that this is your first time (unless you are just blatently giddy ), so just find a spot and proceed to blend in

And please remember to give us an update on how it goes! I for one am MORE than confident it will go well for you as long as you don't drop into a swingers resort posing as a nudist resort. Lots of people here can steer you in the right direction if you're not sure. Enjoy!

Cheers!

I was a nervous wreck my first time. I paced the beach (Haulover)a couple times before I got the courage to take the final step.
I just picked an empty spot on the beach and said to myself, "I didn't come all this way to stand around dressed", I took off my clothes and laid down on my towel. After laying there for a little while all my worries seemed so silly.

I noticed alot of people that shave their pubic hair and that I didn't stick out in the crowd at all. I even made a couple friends the first day.

Keep your courage up and don't let anything stop you from having a good time.

Steve

I still think the best way is to try maintaining nudity at home as often as you can. This helps you to adjust to being nude and also makes you more comfortable.

If any friends or family members are willing to experiment with this freedom with you, that will help a lot.
