Most don't usually care as long as you're not flaunting it, but do be curtous and either move the towel in front of you, or if you're laying down then just roll over. You could always just jump in the pool(if your at a resort, other wise just the water). Just don't flaunt it and you should be ok.Comment

I think you may find that if people think you are getting/exposing an erection on purpose, many would care. Of course it also depends on the group you are with.Comment

vipery3gz, first off welcome to the forum.
As to your question in the highly unlikely event you do have an erection simply lay on you stomach or dive into the cool water of the pool until it subsides.
The odds are you'll be the only one 'aware' of your turgid status anyway unless you go 'parading' around at 'full staff' as it were.
Erections can occur for any number of reasons and getting 'aroused' isn't the one that occurs at a club or beach among nudists ... the most common reason of this extremely rare occurance is literaly a 'stiff' breeze ... as a result erections fall well beneath the 'nudist radar screen'.
However, the 'parading' thing happens to be extremely high on the 'radar screen' notice scale with all sorts of alarms, bells and whistles attached which usually results in one being 'asked' to leaveComment

Good question! it's the fear of almost all newbies.... don't worry...you will most likely stay very flacid...even if you do find yourself slightly arroused... the "fear" of getting an erection is the most common thing that stops most from going nude at first. try just being nude in and around the house...where you are comfortable... doing ordinary things. You will find that it really is "free and comfortable". You will then look back and wonder why it took you so long to become a nudist. ENJOY and hang loose! Good LUck jon

I had the same question, along with a few others before I had my first visit to a nude beach.
Actually I was so nervous the first time I don't think I could have gotten one if I tried.
Once you have been to a public place like a beach, you will quickly learn how to identify an innocent erection from an intendend one.
Men with good morals don't wander around pointing it at people or trying to draw attention to it like the exhibitionists do.
If your at a club I'm sure the management will be more than happy to explain the club rules.

I have seen men with erections at our nude beach, and have not seen any other persons reacting in any way. Of course there may have been private comments I did not hear. While I am sure most men with erections do turn over and lay face down, use a towel, etc., I watched a volleyball game at Wreck Beach involving both males and females where two of the young men had erections, and just kept playing. Not the end of the world. It may be much different at a naturist resort, etc., but it is not uncommon to see men with at least partial erections from time to time at a nude beach.Comment

Quite right NorthVan, I think the difference is in intent. You can't really break away from a game without letting down your team, so I think an erection at that time is considered to be unintended, and is generally ignored. But take an exhibitionist displaying his erection who deliberately visits and stands close to every female on the beach, that is seen as something entirely different - a nuisance, or maybe even a potentially dangerous head-case.
The possibility of becoming aroused was my biggest fear at each step of my journey into naturism - locker room, beach, organized swim. Now I wish I had only started that journey years earlier!Comment

Exactly, NorthVan. I have seen erections several times at the beach and lots of partial erections. At most resorts I have been to, erections are a little more taboo. I have seen youngsters with them and of course no one says anything. But it is obvious in my experience that anyone older than 15-16 would be talked to by management if they did not try to conceal an erection if possible. No condemnation for getting one, just for showing it off.

Having an erection, what to do if it happens, and how it will be responded to is a significant concern to new nudist like myself. Not having the benefit of many nude experiences around other nude people, it's tough to imagine not getting an erection - no matter what anybody says about nervousness, etc., preventing it. In my case, and I suspect in the case of many others, nervousness and anticipation leading up to the first time experience makes erections harder to control. Unless you can get immediately involved in some activity to take your mind off it, all you can think about is being naked around a bunch of other naked people. The last thing I want to do is have an erection, at all let alone at a ridiculously innapropriate time, while trying to enjoy nude activities. If there were a pill I could take to prevent them, I would take it in a heartbeat. Bliss would be being able to lounge around, walk freely, socialize, and participate in activities clothes free, without a towel, and without having to worry about it. It's just tough to imagine, at this point, that might even be possible although I know others do it and I am hopeful.
From reading the posts both here and in other forums, it is obvious that there is a lot of differing opinion on this subject and even whether it should be discussed as a valid issue. I hope that my post demonstrates that it is a valid concern and a worthy issue. Certainly it is for me and the discussions I've read through have been helpful.
As I am now nervously preparing for my first visit to a nudist resort I'm trying to get myself accustomed to being nude as much as possible. I'm also anticipating the possibility of an erection and planning how to handle it (walk softly and carry a big towel wil be my strategy for awhile).Comment

Erections are a beautiful thing in private. I have gone nude hot tub with my gf and husband and he has gotten a bit hard at times. Just don't go running around with it. They all go down.
