I was wondering why most nudist parks, resorts & or beaches do not allow single nudists?

I have checked out a lot of them on the net, just to find that they discriminate against single people.

I have been a home nudist for going on twenty years, and now I want to adventure out into the public. And I find out that because I am single I can not belong to the nudist society...

Why is this so?

Come out to California, Most all are very Singles friendly without quota's. Never heard of a nude beach out west that is, that limits singles

Yeah, totally. I'm new to this nude beach thing, but I've noticed that it's really easy to visit these places out here by yourself (although you might be a little lonely).

I have not had any problems in Georgia, at least at Hidden Valley (Paradise Valley) and Hidden River. They seem happy enough to see me. But I do agree that mostly couples attend these resorts except maybe during special events.

It isn't so. Almost all resorts, clubs and camps allow singles. Some have singles quotas, but do not prohibit singles.

When traveling it is always recommended to call ahead to make sure you will be welcomed. Your chances of being accepted is increased if you are a member of AANR or TNS, preferably through a local club.

Plug your zipcode into NudistParksUSA and you will be given a list of clubs and resorts ranked by distance from you. Click the more info link to find out about each place, including whether they allow singles.

Most of the places here in Indiana are very strict on single men unless they are there with a woman. I have not yet heard of one that wasn't like this. Some even prohibit married men if they go with out their wives. If this wasn't the case, I would have made the plunge a long time ago. I have yet to be to a real nudist venue. My wife is not really intrested for various reasons. I hope to convince her to visit a nudist resort sometime this summer.

Artie,
I have been to Lake'O The Woods in Valparaiso Indiana, in the northwest of Indiana, a couple times for a few days. I am single, (widower) and have seen other singles there, and I don't think they would inquire about one's marital status, for admission.
There are many people from Chicago there as it may be an hour's drive from Chicago.

Turtle Lake Resort in Michigan doesn't ask if you're married. In the two years I've gone there, I've never been told to bring a woman with me. I have no idea where I would find one who is willing to go to a nudist resort.

Turtle Lake Resort has never asked my marital status, either.
Turtle Lake Resort is a rather short distance from northern Indiana border.

Thanks for the advice. Valpo is quite a drive for me. I have been to their website along with about every Indiana nudist camp/resort website the one in Bloomington is very strict on no single men. I was hoping to go to Sun Shower in Centerville this Summer if I can talk my wife into going. She has a great deal of hang ups about social nudity. But with a lot of patience and prayer I hope to win her over.
She has even told me that she wouldn't mind if I went to one of these places. She just doesn't feel comfortable about going. And due to this, I doubt any place close by would let me in with out her.

Leo,

Not all single male nudists are true nudists like yourself. Believe it or not, some single (or married) males have an agenda when going to a nudist venue and that includes picking up girls. If permited with not control males would highly out number females and might lead to discomfort for the female visitors.

This is controled by either watching for suspicious or annoying behavior, or by limiting the number of males by excluding the single ones.

Just so you know, it's not just SINGLE males. A married male finds an even harder time when trying to visit without his partner. For obvious reason. ...But I think the over all purpose is just to approach a 50:50 mix. Unfair, but ultimately upto the resort.

Artie,

I feel your pain. I too have been slowly working on sharing this part of my life with my wife.

Thanks Fresh,
I have already shared this with my wife but she isn't sure what to think. I purchased the INA DVD and watched it with her. She enjoyed it but didn't say much else. I have showed her several websites too but have failed to convince her to come to a camp or resort yet. She have some body image issues and is worried about getting a sunburn (she has very pale skin and burns easily). But she has no problem with my nudity or posing for me which is all I can ask for now. Maybe this Summer she will change her mind.

Peace,
Artie

If this Web site used the same illogical reasoning that nudist clubs and resorts do, most of the men here would have to be turned away. Many of us are single for various reasons. Many are married whose wives don't post here. So to have a "gender balance" here, most of us men wouldn't be here, and this forum would have to close. I fear that that will be the fate of many nudist venues unless they work out a better plan than turning men away for fear of making the few women they have uncomfortable.
