I will take your question as written and advise that "Oz" is a colloquial nickname for Australia which is a country located in the Southern Hemisphere.
Due to our accent, the "Aus" sounds like "oz", hence the origin of the word.
There is no connection between Australia and the mythical location depicted in the old Judy Garland movie. The only place in Australia which would resemble such a place is our capital city of Canberra as it and its occupants are as totally isolated from reality as the characters in the movie.
