• new member....new to naturalism

Hi there, I just joined about 10 min ago .

I was searching on Yahoo for Naturist or Nudism related www pages and found this site & forum which looks like a cool place for n00b's.

So, as you saw from the post i'm new to all this....i'm a closet
naturist. Besides being nude around my house that's the most i've done. Never done anything out in the open but always been interested in being nude.

I'm not sure if i'd even like to do it outside the house. I can be a pretty shy person so that doesn't help.

I do think that if I were to atleast attempt doing this that i'd get over some of that shyness i've had not just for this but being shy in
general. Then I could see if I feel comfortable & enjoy doing this out in the open. I'd also probably meet people which would be pretty cool.

Anywayz, i'm from Jersey (as if that wasn't obvious from my nick lol) so anyone that wants to chat...hope to hear from ya soon! Thanks

Hey Brian,

I work in Jersey. Welcome to the group. Do you know about Sandy Hook, which has a very large nude beach? It's in Jersey, might be some place you might want to visit over the summer. You don't even have to take your clothes off if you don't want to, if you're shy like that. Anyways welcome.

Hi Brian,

You would be surprised at how quickly you get over your shyness when you get into social nudism. I was a home nudist for most of my life (still am in the winter), but I found ways to be nude outside alone.

I waited until I was 55 to try social nudity and wish I had done it decades sooner. Now I love going to the nudist resort near me when it's warm enough. I hope to be living there in the near future.

Don't let shyness stop you from discovering the joys and pleasure of being a social nudist. I see in your profile that you're 21. Don't do as I did and end up looking back over the years and wish you had had the courage to try social nudity and didn't because of shyness. There are resorts that accept singles; the one where I go does.

There are places in New Jersey to enjoy social nudism, if they accept singles. I am, of course, assuming that you're single. If you're married or have a girlfriend who would go with you, getting in would be a lot easier. If you go alone, having a membership in AANR or one of the other naturist organizations would help in getting accepted.

Please, push your shyness aside and give it a try. You won't regret it, but you could regret wasting years in which you could have been enjoying being a nudist outside your home.

Hey guys, thanks for repling. I am single but am always interested!

I think i'd probably like to try something smaller then a beach or resort to start off with....maybe some small nudist gathering or something else where I could go to with someone else. It'd probably put me at ease more & I could do it all gradually.

Going alone it'd probably be weird...with someone would atleast put me at ease a little more.

I just saw the "young naturists" board so i'll be posting on there as well since i'll probably find people in my age group.

I'll definitly be posting here still too, everyone had to start being a naturist somewhere and i'm sure i'll find some vet's here. Plus, everyone here seems nice.

Try the nude beach. It's actually easier than you think.
Once you get there, and realize there are 100's of other people who feel the same way you do, all your fears evaporate.

I agree with the fact that a nude beach is by far easier then social nudism to start off with. Yah, baby steps are fine but this is what I found easier. I started at the beaches and once I took off my clothes, my body went into "I'm at the beach" mode and the rest was forgotten. Yah, things kinda grew at first but I layed on my stomach until it passed or even went swimming. In about 10 min you totally forget that you're nude. Then you take a walk and it all gets that much better. You'll see.
Being nude around the house is one thing but being nude at a beach is totally differant once you feel the wind and sun, everything else drains away, even stress.
My first thought was that everyone would turn around at the same time/on-cue and see me nude but I looked up and NOONE cared.
I've even been to a nude beach in Montreal with 2 volleyball courts on the beach, young kids, older seniors, boats and noone cared at all.
Just jump in, the waters not that cold....

Maybe so, maybe not. You can get some perverts at a nude public beach plus, gays tend to congregate there. If I had first went to a nude beach, I may not be a nudist today. Fact is, the clubs usually require a membership in AANR or TNS or let you in only one time or as a guest.
Go to a club first and you will be sold on the lifestyle. Go to a nude beach first, and you may be leave with a bad feeling or worse disgust because of the actions of a few.

Homophobic are we? Why do you have a problem with gays being at the beach?

Hey dude, don't know if anyone said this yet, but it's "nudist" or "naturist". Naturalism is butterfly watching and other wild-life related activities. Have a good time naked somewhere!

uhhhh, yeah.....that's what I meant

Me calling the topic "new member...new to naturist" didn't sound right...so I figured adding a "ism" is the corret wording.

Anyone here a vocab teacher? lol

Try out the (what used to be called) Tri State Metro Naturists. They're a non-landed group that have get-togethers in NJ. I went to some of their indoor swims when I lived in NJ. Find MelissaStar among the users here and ask her about it. She recently joined them.

I wanted to be among other like me, just to ensure myself that I wasn't a nut. Nicest folks you'll ever associate with. It's like going to a church where everyone is like-minded and no pretenders. Not many churches like that any more. Most folks are hiding something.

I also am new to nudism, after my last Gf and I split, I decided to give it a try partially on a bet with her that she said to me, I didn't have the t*ts to do it and I told her I did...so here goes...

I hope nobody is peeking when I take my clothes off when I go down to the beach once it warms up in few months on my next vacation...it has been omg, a long time since I saw someone other than her naked, I am not so sure Iam ready for someone else to see me in my birthday suit

Hi, the name is Nudist Elmer, most of my friends call me Elmer.

While I am new to posting here, I definitely not new to reading this BB, I have been reading it for a long time, just never saw a real reason to register till today when I saw somethin worth saying something bout

I hate long postings, so unless something really catches my eye, I generally won't bother reading it, no matter the topic.

Please don't make the same mistake I made. I waited until I got married to share my at-home nudity with someone else....my wife, only. But I'm sorry I waited that long to share it with just one other person.
Now, I'm 60 and my present wife & I share our nudity at home & out of doors, but still only with the two of us. I'd like to expand our circle & my wife is still "thinking about it".
Oh well, maybe this summer.........
