Is there some reason you have not been there since? Just wondering.

It is VERY VERY boring. If you are a young naturist, it really isn't the event for you.

The gathering really caters to older folks where the acitivities tend to be things like photography and endless seminars with topics ranging from "finding god" to how to clean a BBQ grill. Not many physical activities, other than the usual swimming, that would interest the young.

In fact a lot of the young kids there tend to stay in the pool room ALL DAY.

In addition, the Eastover resort is a bit rustic and in bad need of remodeling and renovation. From what I have been told by those who have attended the gatherings for years, the previous locations were a lot better. Unfortunately, Eastover is the only place TNS can find that can accommodate that many people.

The only memorable thing about the resort is the staff. These kids are the most well behaved and helpful kids I have ever met.

Overall, I do not think I will ever go to gathering again. I asked a friend I usually go with if he misses it and we both agreed that we don't.

Wow. Kind of a bad rap for Eastover.
I would encourage anyone to go and find out for themselves. I've always found naturists to be somewhat of an adventuristic sort. (did I just make that word up?) And in my optimistic opinion its all what you make of it.
No doubt the majority is an older crowd, as anywhere, but in the past few years I remember seeing quite alot of younger folks there.
We are a couple in our early forties but feeling like our mid twenties.
Needless to say we'll be there

By no means should anyone make their decision about attending based on my feelings about the gathering.

For me and some of the people I have met at the gathering, we decided that it isn't our cup of tea. The 6 of us have decided not to attend for while. The gathering isn't for everyone but some will find it enjoyable

It's one of those things ... some couples compalin that some group gatherings, they can't go -- "Oh, the man/woman ratio is too high" -- yet, by not going, they are making the ratio too high....

Likewise -- "if you're a young person, don't go, because there won't be any young people there"

I, too, say , go, find out what it's like for yourself.

Yes... we will be there.. Thurs - Sun

Eastover is a very large and unique resort.. there is lots of things to do for young or old.. aside from the scheduled events such as Tennis, volleyball, swimming inside/outside pools, the talent show is a riot!.. it's all about attitude and having no strict expectations in life
We have young friends who go and love it

While it may not be for everyone, yes....you owe it to yourself to try it out and make that decision.
I understand it is the tenth year for the TNS gathering, so they have to be doing something right!?!

I think it is the tenth year at Eastover.

In the past there had been cries from some -- "it should be moved" -- BUT -- there's probably no other facility that can host it as it now exists. There were some arguments, "it can be moved if it's scaled back" -- WHY SCALE IT BACK?

It should also be noted -- for those interested in naturism's economics -- that this is a "textile" facility that is taken over by naturists for a week.

Could the Gathering be improved? When the agenda is published - check it out. If someone thinks that "they" should have a session or event dealing with some other topic/issue/pastime, volunteer to do it.

Finally - yes, the crowd is not dominated by Generation Y. It's a cross-section, but highly reflective of the American naturist scene -- which is graying.

So if you're a young adult, why not come to Eastover? And bring some of your friends with you?

In any event or gathering there will be someone who will complain and be other than happy. If that is the case, then leave. If you like it, then stay and enjoy! No resort will be able to pacify every one. Just is not possible. Especially where this will attract a smaller and also a special interest group.

Is good to have an idea of what to expect just the same so the words are in themselves of great value to someone however harsh they may seem to another person who for sure will complain about that too.

Well I thought it was fun.

I met lots of nice people.

I did a slip n slide, chocolate pudding toss, swimming, did skeet shooting, dancing.

All stuff I never done before or imagined i would do.

I had a great time meeting some of the people posting in the Clothesfree forums.

Was great fun, there may be older ones there but those dudes can dance a storm.

May be the organisers will take up your ideas if you post them on fun things you want to do.

An event is what you make of it.

                              Croydon;

When Clam was asking, he was wondering if you were okay, etc.

I wonder if you voiced any of those concerns privately in person, on the phone, e-mail, or fax to the conference organizers. If so what were their answers?

Regardless of the veracity of your comments, making them in this public forum was low class. It could only potentially discourage others and therefore hurt the conference.

If negative people who like to spread negative statements on the web choose not to attend it will probably be a better conference.
