Hello from Minneapolis. I'm looking for others who enjoy the lifestyle who can suggest places in the Twin Cities area (other than a club) that are good for CO recreation and relaxation. Currently, my ability to enjoy at home is quite limited. I do enjoy sailing/boating in the buff, going to the beach (but they seem non-existent for CO's) and just hanging out. If you can suggest a place or would be intersted in getting together, please reply. I know there must be more than just me who wants to enjoy the lifestyle but Minnesota culture seems to keep people from talking about it openly.

Hello from Southern MN. My name is Tom and I live south of Mankato about 12 miles. I am a home nudist. My wife on the other hand is not. I think their are 3 or 4 places north of the Twin Cities.As far as I know they don't except single males you have to be a couple. I also wish their was a nude beach or CO beach in this area. I agree with you about Minnesota culture and poeple talking about it openly.

My name is Chris and I live in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis. Yes, there are at least two nudist clubs up this way. I was a member of Avatan. I started out as a couple, became a single and was elected to the Board of Directors as the Activities director. I held the position for five years. The whole time I was a single. I haven't been to the club for a few years because of a job change and I work at least some of the week end. You would be surprised at the number of nudists here in Minnesota.

hey minnesotans, i am south of minneapolis and i am looking for some more nudist around the metro area of minneapolis, and if possible, maybe some people my age(19), or families with kids. I have been a nudist for a year now and i am a minnesota naturist member as well. I have been to oakwood (which may i add is very very beautiful, thanx susan!!) But if there is anyone there, SHOUT OUT!!

Unfortunately there are no CO beaches in the Twin Cities area. The best option is having a membership in Minnesota Naturist. As a non-landed club, we hold many activities in homes around the cities. As pek1 stated, contact Don Kelly, he is the president of Minnesota Naturists. Get involved and spend quality time with likeminded nudists.

Minnesota Naturists allows people to attend two activities before requesting that you join. We hold a monthly swim at a health club. We have nude bowling, house parties, and pot luck dinners. Nude hiking and canuding are activities during the summer months. Please join us for an activity. I attend some of them, especially the swims and house parties.

I have attend Oakwood one time and would really like to visit Avatan. I, too, am a single male, so I understand that I might not be welcome. I am sorry I missed the volleyball tournament last month, but I had a prior committment. I have heard that Avatan is a nicer place than Oakwood, so I would like to visit and make my own opinion. Would it be possible to visit sometime?

I could ONLY suggest the clubs. If you exclude clubs, then you exclude options.

Lists five clubs in Minnesota - I believe two are landed clubs (places with facilities) and three are non-landed nude recreational groups.

The only TNS club of those five is Minnesota Naturists (http://www.mnnaturists.org - no web page link on the AANR page but they do have one).

And they have frequent get-togethers.

I suggest that you DON'T exclude organized groups because that's where the bulk of the nudists go. Especially in the colder months.

And if you're looking for small social groups (house parties) -- people will want to know you first before they invite you into their social circles. I will recommend that you visit those groups because that's where the social circles begin. And they would know the skinny dipping sites, etc.

Finally, don't presume that just because you're a single male that you won't be welcome. You will be screened (interviewed) a little more stringently. You may even be put on a wait list, and some clubs have both "open" events and "balanced events" but if you don't check them out, then you don't know what's there.

I'm from western Minnesota. Only about 140 miles west of the TC's. I don't get much free time so I havn't been to any of the nudist places listed in other posts.

It would be fun to go to a nude swim in the winter but I only get sundays off and most of them are probably on a saturday or friday night or something like that.
It would be a great break from the wintler blues.
Maybe someday...

If a club asks me more questions than they would a couple, I would strongly urge caution with these people. If this does happen to me, I also have the resources and the technology to individually check them out, since I still have my contacts that I had when skiptrace investigating. Dang! Nothing like putting a private investigator on a nudist club...tee hee, but, if that's what it takes, so be it and tit for tat! Two can play that game and I play to win, which I always do!

Then they shouldn't ask me questions they wouldn't ask a couple, should they? I also do not and will not patronize any inappropriate questions. I've never been arrested, never been in trouble, so why should they be asking me questions that they would not ask anyone else? Remember, just because I'm single doesn't mean I don't have money. Ask me anything you want to, but, if I can't ask of you the same questions, then there IS a problem, huh?

Well, it depends what you consider a problem, I guess.

If they ask you questions, and you don't answer them, and they don't let you into their group, is that a problem?

Not for them. It is for YOU, because you wanted in.

I think you're exhibiting a little bit of paranoia here .. discussion of money, 'skip tracers' , etc., is a little far fetched, here...

Perhaps SOCIAL nudism isn't for you. In any event, if you were to (hypothetically) tell a club "I'm going to run a security check on you. And I have friends in the 'skip tracer' community, who will do my dirty work for me."

Don't look for the welcome mat at a club after that.
