  • Non landed clubs/groups

I know there are non landed clubs and groups in all areas and would be nice for some to be posted so others may join.

I do know there are some here in Richmond Va but have no idea on how to contact them. The one here also accepts singles so I am very interested to find one here in Richmond.

Try the AANR...they have the list of most non-landed clubs/groups

Some are affiliated with both AANR and The Naturist Society. Some are affiliated with one or the other but not both.

the nudist explorer is good -- but also consult

www.aanr.com - Look for "Clubs". Clubs identified with a (T) indicate that they're non-landed clubs. They might just be a group that's banded together to obtain AANR membership -- or a social group -- or a group of members of a non-AANR landed club.

www.naturistsociety.com - click on "Naturist Network" and look for groups in Virginia.

Now, I can tell you - there don't appear to be any in either group in the Richmond area. There *is* White Tail Park in Ivor -- and also some non-landed groups in the Virginia DC burbs.

So -- why not start your OWN non-landed group? AANR and TNS will provide you with free advice and assistance.

And, take the time to visit those groups in the DC burbs. There may be some folks from your area that make the trip north to attend events and gatherings.

Three people responded to this thread with links to LANDED linkes. The thread is very clear in NON-LANDED groups interest. It is NON-LANDED groups I am seeking.

THe landed resorts and groups are easy to find but that is NOT what I am seeking. Again, I know there are non-landed nudist groups here in Richmond and those are what I am trying to reach or find.

There appear to be about 260 nudists in Richmond. About another 200 in Petersburg area. Sorry, but they all go to landed WTR.

I believe that on checking the links to AANR and TNS you will find that the clubs are tagged whether they are landed or travel (non-landed) within the listings.

At least that is what I am seeing.

If they don't link up with the two major national orgs,

... and they don't have a web presence
... and you just can't find any of them --

perhaps they don't want to be found by anyone and wish to keep to themselves !!!!

There are many small social groups that would rather not expand and not recruit new members -- unless they get to know them first.

I would say the best bet to linking up with those groups would be to go to the other clubs - that do publicize themselves -- like White Tail, or the northern VA non-landeds, and you will likely meet some other people from the Richmond area.

If they're part of a social group / clique / informal gathering circle -- and they get to know you and like you -- you may get invited in.

Such groups may exist in Richmond and if you can't find contact numbers, etc., it's probably of their own design and almost certainly intentional.

Thanks for the data. Yes I do agree some may not wish to be found where they do not want any more attention or at least attention they cannot control.

I did know a woman who had a friend that was in one of those non landed groups and they would meet at someone's home. It was a true nudist gathering of both sexes, some married and most not. Was a good group.

I lost contact with that friend and of course any way to maybe connect with that group. It was my hope to find them or at least another one by asking here.

                      Thanks again.

Informal polls done here, by me, indicate that less than 1 in 3 thousand nudists post here. Probably lots fewer.

Not only do they not join in here -- many nudists in the USA aren't even aware of CFI or its website.

But my point was that many nudist groups keep to themselves. You can make a general assumption that if they don't advertise, and don't have any web presence of any type -- they're probably not all that eager to have new people join them.

They're usually an informal group of friends.

I am a part of some social circles up here, and end up going to, or hosting perhaps a half-dozen nudist gatherings a year. Some folks have regular get-togethers in their homes -- these are not "group gatherings" or "organizational gatherings" but informal groups of friends who meet.

... and this goes back to my long-running points -- that before you get an invite into a social circle, people have to know you first.

I would not extend nor would I accept an invite to a private house party unless I knew the invitee(s)/inviter(s). We did accept an invite to someone's home on the basis of a mutual friend's suggestion, and had no regrets about that.

So basically - a internet post seeking entry into such groups won't generally result in an invitation.

On the other hand -- if you hang out at a non-landed group that makes its presence known, or a landed group, and make friends there, no doubt you will also get into social situations away from the park or club.
