Nude hiking in Florida

Looking for places to go hiking in the Cnetral Florida area. I get over to Ft Desoto often to kayak nude but haven't found any cool area to go hiking. Does anyone know of any palces around here?

Nothing exact, but look for parks and/or bushland that are not being well used,when you want to hike.
These areas would be a few miles away from urban limits.
Review parking area nearby. Few or no vehicles suggests a good nude hiking opportunity.

You are lucky to live where you do.
Here, there is snow and cold and therefore, nude hiking is a spring,2006 thought.

I've hiked 11 miles nude at Seminole State Forest in central Florida. This was past February. It wasn't very busy even on a beautiful Sunday but we did meet one couple near the end, who seemed surprised to see us but not upset. I earned my Florida Trailwalkers certification from the state forestry division this year and I hope to get the next level in 2006.

Kayakker,

Check out Myakka River State Park located near Sarasota. We camped in "primitive camping" and the trails to get to these sites were very long (10-15 miles) and very sparsely inhabited.

In fact, we ran across one guy who very quickly sat down and evidently put his shorts on before meeting him along the trail.

A great place for a little hike, in my opinion. A picture of me on the trail is below.

Are there mountain trails in the are? Fla would be great nearly year round for the temperate weather. Mountains may be a bit cool in winter but over all must be totally great nearly year 'round!

If you are looking for southern mountains, you will not find them until you get to north Georgia or northern Alabama. Florida has just a few low hills at best.

Winter hiking in Florida is highly recommended however! Humidity tends to be low, temperatures are mild most afternoons, nor is winter rainfall common in the southern part of the state.

It's definitely an adventure I hope to try.

Although I can walk nude in the resort where I live, the resort is small. I have to walk all of the roads three times just to get in three miles of walking, and I rarely walk less than hour.

I would love to have others to walk nude with in an area where we can do that even if it's not a nudist area. Nudity is apparently allowed or overlooked in secluded areas--especially if there is more than one nude person.

I will be going out soon for my usual nude walk. If anyone knows of an area near me where we can walk nude and would like some company, just contact me.

Is this certification processs unique to Florida?
How many levels are there?
Does the state forestry division know that you do it essentially nude?

Nu, There are 3 levels. You have to do a certain number of trails spread among several state forests for each level. They have the program to encourage you to travel around florida, not simply hike a lot of miles over and over on the same trail. They certainly accomplished their goal with me, didn't they?

And actually, I only hiked one of the trails nude, but it was the longest one. I would do more nude, but the other 9 trails I did, I did with my kids and dog on over Presidents Day weekend and it would have been too busy on some trails (but not others).

Right now it is hunting season however.

Hopefully I'll go back and hike some of the Panhandle forests in February again, though chances are my kids will be along then too. I enjoy hiking first and freehiking second.
