trevor: social nudity is the best. i started a couple of years ago choosing a clothing optional resort for my wife. she does not choose to participate. i had many concerns as most males and none hapened. i felt very comfortable socializing with the others and making new friends. i found it best to have like minded people for home visits. it gets you accustomed to being around other nude people other than yourself. try it and enjoy!!

I think you should get your best firned and slowly indroduce him to nudism. Ex. Be in the shower when they get to your house, and come out naked. say hello and go get dressed. Maybe after that you could ask them to go skinny dipping. You could also show them this site. Eventualy you can start spending whole dates nude, wheather your friend is or not. Once you get comfortable with that you cuould start indroducing other firnds, or go to a public social nude place
i hope you find my ideas helpful and good luck.

I'm new to nudism (at least away from my home) too - and already have an outing planned to a clothes free resort. I'm going by myself and I'm not sure what to expect being around others and have thought a bit about ease of being around different genders. I, too, might be more comfortable around more women because I might feel less threatened and there would be less concern about preference perceptions (I am straight).
On the other hand, another problem potentially arises around women and that is concerning, as well. I guess a mixed group would probably be best. I'm wrestling wit that as well.

What I'm realizing though, is that it is less about being comfortable around other people than it is about being comfortable with ones self. That can be tough to conquer as well and, of course, acceptance by others out to help. Maybe this is why many report getting comfortable quickly in resort or group settings.

There are no "concerns" to be concerned about.
Nobody really gives a hoot about all the things "newbies" believe will happen.

I was at an event last week with a small group of nudists. We were Nudists, having a good time. That's all.
There were no issues to be concerned about.

I got to tell you, being fairly new to social nudity, it's not nearly as bad as you think at first. I spent yesterday afternoon at a nude beach with a veteran naturist, and spent some time talking about a number of things (religion, college life, etc.). The only negative from the experience was the sunburn I suffered having spent two hours naked outdoors sans sunscreen (dumb me). Really, after you do it once or twice, being nude with others becomes no big deal.

                  Trevor,
It is kinda difficult to "help you out" with how nudism is if we don't know what information you seek. Do you have specific questions? If you do, feel free to ask and you will get replies. We were all new to nudism at one time or another. Many of us had the same questions you may have. I look forward to talking to you.

Hi, I just had my first nude social experience a few weeks ago. The hardest part was driving to the office to register. I told the person at the office that this was my first time and they were very understanding. They gave me a brief overview of the club facilities, the rules and told me to enjoy.
I was scared when I took off my clothes and walked to the club house. Once inside, I found a spot to set my things, showered and went to the hot tub.
Everybody that I met that day were very nice. Some folks talked to me and the others present. Some just kept to themselves. Everybody there just went about things as if they were clothed. Walked around outside and the experience was awesome. Spent about nine hours there. It was one of the most amazing experiences that I have ever had and I hated to put my clothes back on and leave.
Bottom line, summon your courage and just go. After a few minutes, you will ask yourself why you didn't get there sooner.
