  • Why do people insist on posting in topics not aimed at them?

Sorry guys, just got to rant for a minute.

When topics are titled specifically for the attention of a particular group whether it be an age group, female, location or other, why do people so totally out of that demographic feel the need to post on the topic.

Take the 'Any teenage girls here' topic embarrasingly dominated by non-teenage males for example. I could pretty much name any 'Young Naturist' topic intruded on by seriously older men. Or the 'Any Naturists 14-17' topic replied to by a 24y/o. Not forgetting the 'Nudists 20-25' topic replied to by 30+ somethings. I could go on for days but I won't.

If you are to blame, and you know who you are...STOP IT!!!!!!

If you really want to know how to get young nudists (esp. females) to join in the forums, all you have to do is shut up and the distant murmur may become a pleasant roar.

    O.K. rant over...

I am a thirty-something, and I post in here only to recommend a resource to a person trying to learn more about nudism or find a club, etc. There are circumstances where I think it is fine . . . otherwise I generally stay outta here.

I'd post a reply to your rant, but I'm not young enough.

Occasionally I do because someone asks a question that I have an answer for. Like now.

If its gender or age specific, I don't bother, other wise I may comment.

I try not to interfere with the youngens. But from time to time I can't resist a comment.
I'll try not to respond to anyone looking for Teenaged girls or making futile attempts to "hook up" with nudist teens.
I'm sure if us older people just don't comment on those topics they will die a quick and painless death anyway.

I'm ashamed to say that I'm 30ish also, but I think that adults should be in this forum for three reasons:

                    1) It is important to know what young people are thinking about the topic. Their point of view is often very different than adults, but must follow an adult's lead. My new teenager, for example, suddenly got extremely self conscious, where as the rest of the family doesn't think twice about walking around the house nude.

                    2) Adults may have some good words of wisdom for the younger folks.

                    3) Young people often don't recognize a preditor. A quick look at MySpace.com will show teenagers posting name, address, phone number, pictures and daily routines for the world to see. The fact that nudists are friendly people by nature is one of the things I like best about the practice, but the concept is missunderstood and can attract the wrong sort.

It is really great to see young people who are comfortable enough with themselves to go nude in front of others. Adults should be supportive.

I was debating whether or not to reply to this post. I checked the posts to which I have replied, and none of them were directed at other than a general audience. So, since I don't post on threads which are not meant for me, I guess that this thread does not apply to me. So, I guess I shouldn't have replied. I guess this whole post was irrelevant.
